Description
Single ingredient ta'ape fillet for dogs and cats. Also known as the bluestripe snapper, ta‘ape were introduced to Hawai‘i from French Polynesia in the 1950s as a new food fish but they quickly spread and began outcompeting native reef species. Today they’re one of the islands’ most abundant invaders.
We’ve partnered with Conservation International to turn this problem into purpose, transforming ta‘ape into a single ingredient, high-protein snack for dogs and cats while helping restore balance to Hawaiian reefs. While this is just a limited run, we plan on continuing R&D and coming out with a full-time ta’ape product sometime next year.
The fish has a delicate, mild taste as with most snappers and is a good source of B12 and omega’s. The fishiness scale leans towards lionfish (our fishiest option).

These are a big hit in my house. These are actually the only treats I give my dogs (other than fruits and veggies) because I feel like most dog treats have a lot of weird filler ingredients and empty calories. I like that these only have one ingredient and are high in protein. And my dogs go crazy for them.

Freya is a huge fan. We give it to her at the end of the day as a way to clean her teeth and she always eagerly eats it up until there's only a bit of froth left on the floor. Love that it's sustainable too.
